The
University of Ottawa, located in the heart of the nation's capital, is
a vibrant centre of learning with a total student population of 20,000.
The largest bilingual university in North America, the University is a
major player in the cultural and economic development of the region.
The
campus is in a friendly setting next to the Rideau Canal, close to downtown
Ottawa. It is within walking distance of the Byward Market, a centre of
activity with cafés, shops and a farmer's market. It is within
walking distance of Parliament, the National Library, the National Archives
and the Supreme Court of Canada.
The
city offers many recreational activities including cycling, boating and
skating. In the nearby Gatineau Hills and the Québec Laurentian
Hills you can ski, hike, camp, swim and cycle.
